Biography
30 years experience...
Herbert Cano, President of CAVU Consulting LLC, has
thirty years of hands-on management experience. Mr. Cano
is an innovative, results-oriented leader with a demonstrated
ability to complete complex projects in a timely and
effective manner. A proven communicator with all levels of
management, Mr. Cano has established a consulting track record in
transitional situations requiring proactive leadership, vision, and
fast and successful implementation.
Mr. Cano's consulting
experience encompasses government, large international corporations,
small companies, non-profits and entrepreneurial startups. Using his proven project management
methodology, he has been able to
consistently meet the clients’ desired results within the allotted
timeframes and under budget.

Prior
to providing management consulting services, Mr. Cano was a
corporate executive. As turnaround CFO of a $22 million
revenue generating computer services company, Mr. Cano
financially reversed a more than two year loss trend within thirteen
months, saving the company from bankruptcy. As Managing Director of a corporate finance
boutique, Mr. Cano was in charge of providing corporate finance
services to start-ups, middle-market companies, and financial
institutions. As Chief Operating Officer of a Silicon Valley
manufacturer, Mr. Cano strategically restructured the company and doubled revenues within a two-year period.
Mr.
Cano began his career with Bank of America as a Credit Officer and
rose to CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of BA Capital Markets Group, the
bank’s then $4 billion investment banking unit. In 1982, during his tenure with
Bank of America, Mr. Cano was selected by Governor Brown as
one of 12 individuals to serve as a Governor’s Executive Fellow. Working
with the Pension Investment Unit within the Governor's Office, Mr. Cano was
involved in innovative strategies to foster new technology utilizing
public pension funds, and in the development of legislation that allowed public pension
funds greater investment latitude resulting in the quadrupling of
the funds’ investment returns.
Mr.
Cano holds an MBA in Finance and International Marketing from Santa
Clara University, and a BS in Marketing from San Jose State
University. Mr. Cano is fluent in Spanish. |
